means of living, anxious and desperate but are filled with joy

to welcome the arrival of Your Lordship in this Colony, now

humbly presents this Petition and prays that their difficulties

end hardship might be investigated and sympathised by Your

Lordship and the Hong Kong Government might be directed to

allot without delay appropriate Crown ends to these dispossessed

owners in exchange for their former properti es end to compensate

their losses of the buildings thereon so that they could re-

build their new homes and plent their crops and the reafter to

make their humble livings in tranquility.

And Your retitioner will ever pray &c.
